Changes in Germination and Seedling Traits of Sesame under Simulated Drought

چکیده

Drought is considered one of the leading abiotic constraints to agricultural crop production globally. Present study was conducted assess effects different drought treatments (viz. Control, 10% PEG, and 20% PEG) on seed germination, germination indices, seedling traits, tolerance indices sesame. Our results showed that maximum reduction in studied parameters observed at higher PEG concentration (i.e., PEG). As compared control, viz. decreased values for such as percentage, coefficient variation time, index, vigor index. Similarly, were root length, shoot ratio, fresh weight, dry weight under significantly comparison with control. Furthermore, relative length total index also reduced treatments, respectively. confirms impact traits could be quantified by using which can further help design adaptation mitigation strategies. Based these it concluded have great potential simulate stress impacts thus they should used all kinds related studies.

Response in germination and seedling growth in Phaseolus mungo under salt and drought stress.

The effect of salt and drought stress at the water potentials of-2, -4,-6and -8 bars induced by NaCl and PEG 6000 (Polyethylene glycol 6000) each, on germination and early seedling growth, were investigated for two varieties (PU-19 and Type-9). Electrical conductivity (EC) value of the NaCl solutions were 4.5, 8.8, 12.7 and 16.3 dS m(-1). Germination percentage, root and shoot length, and seedl...

Study of Germination and Seedling Growth Parameters of Three Clover Species (Trifolium spp.) under Drought and Salinity Stresses

DOR: 98.1000/2383-1251.1398.6.145.11.1.1575.1610 Extended Abstract Introduction: Agriculture has been influenced by different abiotic stresses such as temperature, drought and salinity, which reduces roughly half of the yield of crops. In many forage plants, germination and early seedling growth are the most sensitive stages of their growth in the face of environmental stresses. Current r...

Effect of Seed Priming on Germination and Seedling Growth of the Caper (Capparis Spinosa) Under Drought Stress

Objective: To evaluate the effect of chemical stimuli on germination and seedling growth of Caper (Capparis Spinosa) under drought stress. Methods: Factorial experiment in a completely randomized design with four replicates per treatment were performed. First factor of priming include three levels of acetylsalicylic acid (300, 200 and 100 mg/L), gibberellic acid levels (500, 250 and 12...
